GALANA: Mustard & Turquoise Woven Sisal Runner

The GALANA floor mat features columns of yellow and turquoise, separated by wide bands of yellow.

This durable floor rug is equally at home beneath a coffee table in your lounge, covered in toys in a playroom or nursery, peeking out from a bed in your bedroom, or creating a cosy feel to a hallway.

The Basket Room is privileged to partner with Bernard, their expert rug weaver. He weaves their sustainable sisal rugs on a hand loom in his workshop in rural Kenya. The Basket Room's ethically produced, handwoven floor mats are woven from sisal, a strong, fibrous grass.

After splitting, rolling and hand-dying the leaves, Bernard works the fibres through his loom, creating a fine, flat, and durable weave.

It is advised to use a non-slip underlay if positioning the mat on a slippery surface (laminated or stripped floorboards and tiles).
