A charming mid-century Italian Empoli green glass cat decanter, hand-blown in the 1960s. Elegant yet playful, the stylised feline form is topped with a removable head stopper, combining sculptural appeal with practical function.
Produced in Empoli, Tuscany - an area celebrated for its rich glassmaking heritage - this piece is crafted in the distinctive “Empoli Verde.” Its luminous green hue comes naturally from the iron-rich sands of the region, giving it a depth and authenticity unique to Empoli glass.
With its poised silhouette and subtle character, the cat form offers a more refined interpretation of the whimsical animal decanter. It makes a striking decorative object for a bar cart, shelf, or tabletop, while remaining fully functional.
A wonderful example of mid-century Italian design, ideal for collectors of Empoli glass or those drawn to distinctive, sculptural barware.
